FYI

CRACK FILLING

Crack filling is an important part of the aftercare needed if you have lifted your driveway or other slabs.  Protecting your investment is a crucial step in keeping your concrete from being damaged by water. During the freeze/thaw cycle water that gets between your foundation, sidewalk, or driveway joints widens them and pushes the slabs apart.  Water expands 7% when frozen so the damage it causes adds up quickly.  Many homeowners choose to fill the cracks themselves, but should you require this service we provide it upon request through a local partner.

DOWNSPOUTS

When it rains, inspect your eavestroughs and downspouts for proper drainage.  They need to be clear of debris and allow water to drain away from the home.  If water is getting under your concrete or running towards the foundation it will erode underneath the slab and cause it to sink.  Downspout length should be a minimum of 6 feet long and graded away to protect your driveway and keep your basement dry.

POURED & PRECAST STAIRS

Stairs can be challenging and not all can be lifted.  Foam is not considered the best option due to the hollow cavity and reduced surface area to lift against.  However mechanical lifting and blocking/anchoring is an option for many jobs. Factors considered include how far they have sunk, and if there is access to one or both sides.  A one-year limited warranty on stair/step work will be considered depending on circumstances and if conditions are favorable to lift and support them.

FUEL SURCHARGE & MILEAGE

We charge $1.50 per kilometer each way for any job outside the City of Brandon.  This is only charged if you go ahead with the work and your estimate is free if you are within 150 km.  If you are located further away, we will discuss mileage with you prior to travelling.  If pictures and measurements can be provided over the phone, an estimate can be drawn up in most cases and save these initial costs.
